Why does the app insist on accessing my contacts? Every single time... Youre a gps app, know your role

Ive used the old VN for 4 years without issue. Then someone felt the need to IMPROVE the system. Unfortunately they must have hired the same app maker as the obamacare website. BX now it just doesnt work. First the keyboard froze Since the update it simply wont search Not even a spinning icon to let you know its actually trying. PASS

I am all for improvements, but this improvement is 400 steps backwards. The simple app now asks me every time I open it to access my contacts and does not allow me to say "dont ask again." If I type in the address of a location I need to go to, instead of navigating me there it gives me hotel options. What do I need hotel options for when I am going 8 miles from my house? And PLEASE, give me the turn by turn directions back so if I dont hear the turn because my kids choose that same moment to start fighting I can still see where I am supposed to go. And when I end my trip, the app should stop... Instead of me having to hard close the app so it stops flashing on my home screen. Oh, and there seems to be a bug that if you zoom in to see street names on the map, you cant go back to the view you had before. When on the road, this app should be as simple as possible.

The old version was a much better program, it allowed you to do more and gave better visual effects

I made the mistake of downloading the upgrade right before I headed out on an unfamiliar car trip. Yikes! Verizon, you hired a 12-year old graphics designer with 20/10 vision and a penchant for tiny type, faint screens of the color black, a hatred for other colors, and a disdain for readability. Beforehand, I could glance at the screen, quickly grab the information I needed, and put my eyes on the road again. No longer. It is impossible to see in sunlight, and I missed several turns along the way. I immediately called my husband and told him not to download this embarrassment of an upgrade. Shame on you, Verizon. What on earth were you thinking?

With some very likable new features… But, not as user-friendly as the old one. I would personally stick with the old one.

Actual navigation is ok, gets me where I need to go. But asks to access my contacts all the time! Even though my settings say not to access my contacts. I dont want the app accessing my contacts because I dont actually program any addresses into my contacts manager.

I have carried VZ nav through tons of trips where I would have loved most of the new features. But I pay for the subscription so that when I get misplaced I have help. It is absolutely useless for me to type in a previous favorite 10 miles away and have the app suggest the pizza joint across the street. I have only lived in this new to me metro area for a year. It has some less than desirable areas I prefer to avoid, I often used to rely upon VZ Nav while driving alone. That is not an option at all with the latest update. Useless. Cancelling subscription.

Ive had VZ Navigator for approximately seven years and this is the worse upgrade they have ever done. Please bring back the old version. The previous version was user friendly and had a better look and feel to it.

Used to love vz nav, but you jacked it up bad. Unsubscribing. Contacts not in order, typing in search box hangs up, explore thinks Im in Georgia when Im In south Florida. Complete joke. See ya VZ.

The old version was great This new version is very slow times it dont tell you to turn as I have gone by the turn . Then have to turn around. You need to work on this new version!

Ive always charged my phone WHILE the gps was running... NOW the screen wont rotate with the charger plugged in.... So the GPS is sideways while I drive so its almost useless! Go with Google maps

You did an upgrade recently which basically the app shuts down totally. Upgraded to iPhone 7, same thing. Your techs say there are problems. Well, I miss the former navigator , and so Ive unsubscribed. Hope you fix it soon and yes, the previous navigator was better

Tons of coupons near me. Just used one for a free yogurt.

The really useful automatically updated turn by turn navigation has been replaced by a zoomed out hard to follow single page map. Too hard to follow!!! Give us back the old app!!!!

Not worth it.

Yes I agree with all the other complaints. There is no way to "stop" a trip midway. You have to literally back out of the app to close. The old version allowed a "stop" feature. I have to pull over to end app say if the directions are incorrect. Bring back older version, it was much easier to read. And the white background is awful.

Great app overall, really... But I mute the navigators voice for a reason. I listen to music on my phone while Im driving. Muting my music for literally no reason whatsoever is pretty inexcusable.

This app no longer works. It cant even get me to my destination on a reasonable route. Sends me wayyyyy out of the way. Thanks for scrapping the best app ever.
